Fuel Ready, But Not Pumps: The E100 Challenge

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari announced that E100-compatible vehicles could arrive within six weeks, reviving the conversation around ethanol as an alternative fuel. India has surpassed its target of 20% ethanol blending in petrol ahead of schedule, but faces challenges in transitioning to E100. The country's infrastructure is not yet equipped to handle the distribution and dispensing of pure ethanol fuel on a nationwide scale. While production capacity for ethanol has expanded significantly, only a small percentage of India's fuel retail network currently offers E100.
