Large-scale deletions reinforce AIADMK’s demand for SIR, says Edappadi Palaniswami

Edappadi K. Palaniswami, general secretary of the AIADMK, stated that the deletion of 95 lakh voters in the draft electoral roll was evidence to support his party's call for a special intensive revision (SIR) of the roll. Palaniswami accused the ruling DMK of attempting to manipulate the process and urged electors not to panic about their names being absent from the roll, assuring them that the AIADMK would ensure all genuine voters are included in the final rolls. The deadline for corrections and inclusion has been extended to January 18th.
