PM Modi To Release PM-Kisan Installment Tomorrow, Benefiting 9.5 Crore Farmers

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the 23rd installment of the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi from Tarakeswar in West Bengal's Hooghly district on June 20, marking PM Kisan Utsav Diwas across the country. The event is significant as it follows the BJP forming a government in West Bengal and signals direct welfare delivery to farmers. Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced that over Rs 18,800 crore will be transferred to nearly 9.5 crore farmers through DBT, with West Bengal receiving a major share of around Rs 885 crore. The release comes ahead of the Kharif sowing season and amidst concerns about El Nino conditions and delayed monsoon risks.
