BJP-backed independent candidate Parimal Nathwani won a Rajya Sabha seat in Jharkhand after cross-voting by RJD and CPI(ML) MLAs, securing the other seat with 28 votes. Baijnath Ram of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha received 30 votes, while the Congress candidate Pranav Jha received 19 votes.
