Parliamentary body meet convened by Sena (UBT) today amid split rumours
The Shiv Sena (UBT) is holding a parliamentary board meeting on Thursday amid speculation of at least six MPs potentially rebelling. Sanjay Raut, the party's Rajya Sabha MP, and Lok Sabha MPs Arvind Sawant and Anil Desai met with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to request exclusive recognition as the authorized faction in Parliament. The party claims these breakaway MPs were offered financial incentives but has not confirmed their whereabouts. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh accused Union Home Minister Amit Shah of attempting to weaken opposition parties, while Sena (UBT) leaders warned that they face disqualification if they split from the party.
