West Bengal CID grills Abhishek Banerjee for third consecutive day

Abhishek Banerjee, national general secretary of the Trinamool Congress, was questioned by the West Bengal Police Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Tuesday for alleged inflammatory statements made during the election campaign. This follows previous questioning by the Enforcement Directorate and CID over separate investigations, including a school job scam and legislators’ signature forgery. Mr. Banerjee arrived at the police headquarters in the morning and left after an interrogation lasting several hours.
