Speaker Om Birla invites Mamata Banerjee faction to ‘present case’ amid TMC split
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla invited the TMC MPs led by Mamata Banerjee to present their case regarding a petition for merging with the Nationalist Citizen Party of India (NCPI). The invitation came in response to a letter from Abhishek Banerjee, who urged against recognizing any breakaway factions within the TMC. Kirti Azad, another MP, informed the Speaker's office that Banerjee was unable to access his email and would be notified upon conclusion of his interrogation by the Enforcement Directorate.
