Sikh Clergy declares Punjab CM Mann ‘betrayer of Guru’; AAP dismisses forensic reports

The Sikh clergy at Akal Takht, the highest Sikh temporal seat, declared Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann a "Guru Dokhi" (betrayer of the Guru) and "Khalsa Panth Virodhi" (opponent of Khalsa Panth). The decision followed allegations that he made false statements in connection with a reportedly objectionable video. The Akal Takht Jathedar, Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargajj, stated that the video was confirmed as authentic by two forensic laboratories and that Mr. Mann had lied to the institution about it. Baltej Pannu, AAP Punjab State Media In-Charge, countered the claims, stating that the forensic reports were flawed and that the opposition parties were attempting to defame the Chief Minister. Opposition leaders, including Kewal Singh Dhillon (BJP Punjab president) and Amarinder Singh Raja Warring (Punjab Congress president), demanded Mr. Mann's resignation.
