Trinamool, Abhishek Banerjee offices searched in signature forgery case | Kolkata News
The West Bengal CID conducted searches at the Trinamool Congress's central office in Kolkata and Abhishek Banerjee's office on Camac Street as part of its investigation into alleged Assembly signature forgery. The searches followed a complaint filed by rebel TMC MLAs Ritabrata Banerjee and Sandipan Saha alleging fabricated signatures on a letter sent to the Assembly Speaker regarding the appointment of the Leader of Opposition. The CID has recorded statements from 13 TMC MLAs, with three disowning the signatures attributed to them. Abhishek Banerjee skipped a third summons issued by the Crime Investigation Department citing pending proceedings before the Calcutta High Court and his absence from the city.
