
Strategic, all-weather Zojila Tunnel between Kashmir and Kargil to see final breakthrough
Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari will oversee the final blasting of the Zojila Tunnel in Kashmir on June 9th, marking a significant milestone for connectivity in Ladakh. The 13.14 km tunnel, located at an altitude of 11,578 feet, connects the Kashmir valley with Kargil and is expected to facilitate transportation of goods and supplies to high-altitude bases during winter months. This will be the first time such access has been possible for security officials.
