The Calcutta High Court rejected former West Bengal sports minister Aroop Biswas's plea for an urgent hearing on protection from arrest in a case related to the Messi visit fiasco. Biswas was summoned by police after he skipped a Friday summons, and the court ordered him to appear before them on Monday. The complainant, Satadru Dutta, accused Biswas of threatening and extorting passes from him. The case file was reopened after the BJP took office in the state.
