National Awards for e-Governance 2026

The Union government has announced the winners of the 29th National Conference on e-Governance, recognizing excellence in e-governance initiatives. The awards include a trophy, certificate, and an incentive for Gold awardees. This year's winners are projects from various ministries including the Agriculture Ministry's AgriStack platform, the Consumer Affairs Ministry's e-Jagriti portal, and the Prayagraj Mela Authority's conduct of the Mahakumbh 2025. E-governance in India has evolved since computerization in the 1970s, with key milestones including the establishment of the National Informatics Centre (NIC) and the launch of the National e-Governance Plan (NeGP). Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), a set of foundational digital systems, plays a crucial role in modern society. India's DPI is built on the JAM trinity—Jan Dhan bank accounts, Aadhaar enrolment, and widespread mobile phone penetration.
