Allegations of corruption and abuse of power by a prominent politician's family warrant urgent attention.
Abhishek Banerjee, nephew of former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, was summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to appear before it on June 15 in connection with the teacher recruitment irregularities case. The ED found evidence linking money from the scam to his company, Leaps and Bounds Pvt Ltd. The CID had also issued a notice to Abhishek Banerjee for questioning on June 1 regarding a signature forgery case filed by two TMC MLAs who alleged fabricated resolutions.
