Prashant Sitaram Lokhande has been appointed Chairman of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), replacing Rahul Singh, who is now in the Agriculture Ministry. Varun Bhardwaj, a 2008-batch Indian Information Service officer, was named Secretary of the education board amidst controversy over its new on-screen marking system. A one-member committee is reviewing the OSM system and will provide findings to the government soon. The CBSE has opened a re-evaluation website for students to address concerns about the evaluation process and technical glitches.
