Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Myanmar’s military leader Min Aung Hlaing in New Delhi, despite criticism from opposition groups. India stated its policy is not intended to comment on the internal political arrangements in Myanmar and believes engagement is the best way forward. During their meeting, the leaders discussed trade, defense, security cooperation, border management, and regional issues. India and Myanmar also agreed to deepen collaboration across sectors, including trade, energy, and critical minerals, as well as accelerate major connectivity projects.
