
UP gets full-time DGP after four years, Rajeev Krishna takes charge | Lucknow News
The Yogi Adityanath-led government in Uttar Pradesh appointed Rajeev Krishna as full-time director general of police (DGP), two days after receiving a panel of names from the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). This appointment comes after five IPS officers served as acting DGP since 2022, following the removal of Mukul Goel on charges of inefficiency. Krishna has held various positions in the state police and has experience with central deputation, including heading the BSF's Jammu frontier. He was also the first head of the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) when it was established in 2008.
