
UP gets full-time DGP after four years, Rajeev Krishna takes charge | Lucknow News
Rajeev Krishna, a 1991-batch IPS officer, has been appointed as the full-time director general of police (DGP) in Uttar Pradesh. The appointment comes after five acting DGPs served since Mukul Goel was removed from the post in 2022. The decision was made following a panel recommendation by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and approval from Sanjay Prasad, Additional Chief Secretary (Home). Krishna has held various positions within the state police, including head of the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad and BSF's Jammu frontier.
