Aam Aadmi Party scores big in Punjab civic elections
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) secured a resounding victory in Punjab's urban local body elections, winning control of five municipal corporations and nine nagar panchayats. Bhagwant Mann, the Chief Minister, hailed the outcome as "historic" and attributed it to AAP's model of good governance. The party also performed strongly in 19 nagar panchayats, securing a majority in most areas. Manish Sisodia, AAP Punjab affairs in-charge, emphasized the landslide victory as a testament to the people's endorsement of their model. The Congress finished second, while Independents secured third place.
