
Ministers visit paddy procurement centre, ask officials to speed up purchase
N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, the Minister for Civil Supplies and Irrigation of Telangana, visited procurement centers to assess damage caused by recent unseasonal rains on paddy stock. He assured farmers that the government would continue procuring paddy without disruption and ensure they receive the Minimum Support Price (MSP). The government has procured 58 lakh tonnes of paddy so far and expects another 18 lakh tonnes to arrive in the coming days. Mr. Uttam Kumar Reddy also instructed officials to intensify lifting operations, improve storage arrangements, and strengthen coordination between departments to prevent delays in transportation.
