
Inclusion of Maithili in CBSE curriculum will connect future generation to their roots: Bihar CM
Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary hailed the decision by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to include Maithili as a subject at the secondary level starting in 2026-27. The move, supported by BJP leader Gopal Ji Thakur, was requested by Mr. Thakur and confirmed by Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Minister of State for Education Jayant Chaudhary. Sanjay Saraogi, Bihar BJP President, also welcomed the decision as a tribute to Maithili's cultural heritage and linguistic pride. Mr. Saraogi emphasized that the inclusion will promote language learning and cultural understanding among future generations.
