
Chief Electoral Officer (Kerala) Rathan U. Kelkar appointed Secretary to Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan
Rathan U. Kelkar, the Chief Electoral Officer of Kerala, will transition from his role to become the Secretary to Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan. Mr. Kelkar, a 2003 batch IAS officer, has been in the news for overseeing the recent Kerala Assembly elections and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. The appointment follows the recent appointment of Manoj Kumar Agarwal as Chief Secretary to the new BJP government in West Bengal. The State government will send a panel of names to the Election Commission to appoint a new CEO once Mr. Kelkar is relieved of his duties.
