Suvendu targets Abhishek, says all his properties will be accounted for
Allegations of corruption and electoral malpractices raise concerns about abuse of power.
Suvendu Adhikari, West Bengal Chief Minister, held a public meeting in Falta where he accused Abhishek Banerjee, Trinamool Congress general secretary, of corruption and alleged electoral malpractices. The counting for the Falta Assembly seat was suspended due to allegations of electoral malpractices, with re-polling scheduled for May 21st. Adhikari also criticized Mamata Banerjee, former Chief Minister, and accused her of suppressing voter rights in Diamond Harbour. He promised to address grievances related to political violence, police atrocities, and attacks on women. The Chief Minister announced the dissolution of the State police welfare board and urged people to register complaints against such incidents.
