Kuki-Zo protestors rally in Manipur, demanding justice for slain church leaders, release of hostages

Thousands of Kuki-Zo people took to the streets in Manipur, demanding the unconditional release of hostages and justice for three church leaders killed in an ambush. The protest rallies coincided with a 48-hour shutdown called by the Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM), who also submitted a memorandum to Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The demands include a National Investigation Agency probe into the killings, security guarantees for Kuki-Zo civilians, and the establishment of special security zones. The Committee on Tribal Unity demanded the immediate release of all hostages and the implementation of their charter of demands.
