Hindu groups perform puja at Bhojshala amid security; ASI issues directions to implement High Court order
Hindu Front for Justice, Bhoj Utsav Samiti, and local residents performed Aarti at the Bhojshala complex in Madhya Pradesh's Dhar on Saturday, May 16, 2026. The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) acknowledged the High Court's verdict declaring the site a Hindu temple dedicated to Goddess Saraswati and a Sanskrit learning center. The ASI issued an order permitting unrestricted access for the Hindu community while ensuring monument conservation under the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains (AMASR) Act, 1958. Muslim representatives have stated they will challenge the decision in the Supreme Court.
