The Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] State secretary, M.V. Govindan, refuted claims by the Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party that the local body poll results indicated a decline in the Left Democratic Front's political power. Govindan asserted that the LDF remained dominant with 58 Assembly constituencies under its control and maintained its fighting chance to win back lost seats. He dismissed the opposition's narrative of "Left Hindutva" as baseless, highlighting the LDF's success in Malappuram district and the NDA's limited impact in the local body polls. Govindan also refuted claims that the Sabarimala gold theft scandal and the Global Ayyappa Sangamam had propelled Hindutva agenda to the forefront of the election debate.
