Following the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) victory in West Bengal state elections, clashes between rival supporters erupted in Kolkata. The BJP claimed two of their workers were killed while the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) reported two of their workers were beaten to death. Police confirmed four deaths in clashes and one officer was shot.
