Kerala Assembly poll: UDF sweeps central Kerala region
The LDF secured a significant victory in the Kerala Assembly elections, winning nine out of 13 seats in Thrissur district and preventing a UDF clean sweep. The UDF, despite its impressive performance across the state, failed to secure any seats in Ernakulam, Kottayam, and Idukki districts. The Congress and its allies secured all the seats in Ernakulam, denying P. Rajeeve, a CPI(M) strongman and Industries Minister, victory.
