Kerala Assembly polls 2026: UDF win was made massive by anti-Left voting
The United Democratic Front (UDF), led by the Congress, has returned to power in Kerala after a decade-long absence. Following four bypoll victories and strong performance in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and December's local body polls, the alliance secured a majority in the State Assembly. The victory was attributed to cohesive teamwork within Team UDF, guarantees and assurances to voters, effective campaigning, and criticisms of the outgoing Left Democratic Front government's policies.
