BJD expresses concern over deletion of 9.8 lakh voters’ names from list ahead of SIR in the State

The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) protested the deletion of 9.8 lakh voters from electoral rolls in Odisha ahead of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. The party expressed concern over potential disenfranchisement and urged for safeguards to prevent further deletions, particularly for migrant workers who may be wrongly removed due to their absence during verification. The BJD emphasized that NRI voters should not be disenfranchised and called for humane and inclusive verification procedures to ensure voter rights are protected.
