BJP using women as shield for electoral ambitions: DMK’s Kanimozhi in Lok Sabha

Kanimozhi, leader of the DMK, criticized the government's move to amend the 2023 women's reservation law before implementing the principal Act, calling it an "election rescue strategy" and a trap designed to link the two. She argued that the proposed delimitation exercise is being used by the BJP as a means to suppress women's representation in Parliament. Kanimozhi also challenged Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing him of attempting to silence opposition with his "kaala teeka" remark and comparing it to the dark goddess Kali. Her party, along with other Tamil Nadu leaders, protested against the bill by wearing black clothes and burning copies of the delimitation bill.
