Kerala local body polls: Idukki gives UDF a resounding victory

The United Democratic Front (UDF) has won a landslide victory in the Idukki district local body elections, securing control of municipalities and panchayats. The UDF, led by Joy Vettikkuzhi, swept to power with a significant margin, mirroring its 2010 performance where it secured all 14 district panchayat seats. The party won in 20 out of the 20 seats in the Kattappana municipality and 19 in Thodupuzha, while the Left Democratic Front (LDF) managed to secure only 3 seats in Thodupuzha and 12 in Kattappana. The NDA, led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), secured nine seats in Thodupuzha.
