Women’s reservation Bill rushed by govt. to sidestep caste count, says Akhilesh

Akhilesh Yadav, president of the Samajwadi Party, criticized the Union government for rushing the women's reservation bill without adequate consultation, alleging it is intended to prevent the caste count from being factored into the implementation of the 33% reservation ahead of the 2029 Lok Sabha election. He questioned the government's decision to proceed with delimitation without updated population data and asked why they are not accounting for the caste count while enacting such legislation.
