PM inaugurates Delhi-Dehradun expressway

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a six-lane Delhi-Dehradun expressway, a ₹12,000-crore project that aims to reduce travel time between the two cities. The 213-km corridor will significantly improve regional connectivity and integrate with major national corridors. Mr. Modi highlighted the government's focus on infrastructure development and its impact on tourism in Uttarakhand, noting a surge in visitor numbers to pilgrimage sites like Adi Kailash and Om Parvat. Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari announced several connectivity projects slated for completion or launch over the next two years, including a four-lane bypass at Rudraprayag and Kashipur, as well as a greenfield corridor between Delhi and Haridwar.
