Kerala local body polls: BJP wins third straight term in Palakkad municipality
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has retained control of the Palakkad municipality for a third consecutive term, securing 25 out of 53 seats in the municipal council. Despite facing its biggest ever internal feud, the BJP won despite falling short of a majority by two seats. The UDF secured only 17 seats and the LDF eight, with three independent winners, one of whom is a UDF rebel. The two fronts are arch rivals and any possibility of support from either side appears unlikely.
