Kumarapalayam constituency, known for its textile industry, faces challenges including inadequate public transportation, pollution from textile dyeing units, and traffic congestion. Residents have called for a bus stand at Veppadai to connect the area with Namakkal, as well as a flyover at Anangur to address railway crossings that cause traffic jams. The district administration has also been criticized for failing to implement measures to mitigate pollution from effluent discharge into the Cauvery river and provide temporary housing for residents during floods. P. Thangamani, the incumbent AIADMK candidate, is seeking a fourth consecutive term in the upcoming election alongside other candidates from DMK, TVK, and NTK.
