CM Sindh okays Rs9.98bn Phase-II of Karachi Safe City Project - Pakistan

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah approved Phase-II of the Karachi Safe City Project, which will see over 2,300 smart cameras installed across the city. The project, estimated at Rs9.98 billion, aims to enhance urban security and law enforcement capacity in Karachi. The infrastructure includes nine Points of Presence (PoP) sites, a smart surveillance tower, public panic buttons, response vehicles with onboard cameras, and 10 surveillance drones. Shah emphasized the importance of integrating all safe city initiatives under a unified SSCA framework to ensure standardisation and coordination across Sindh. The project is expected to be completed within one year.
