Govt. urged to allocate sub-quota for BC women within Women’s Reservation Bill
Andhra Pradesh Congress vice-president Kolanukonda Shivaji raised concerns about the exclusion of a sub-quota for Backward Caste (BC) women in the Women’s Reservation Bill, scheduled to be introduced in Parliament on April 16th. Shivaji argued that despite constituting over 50% of the population, BC women continue to lack adequate political representation and demanded their inclusion in the bill's sub-quota. He threatened protests if these demands were ignored.
