Sindh implements austerity measures, notifies early market closure among other steps - Pakistan

The Sindh government has implemented a new curfew for shops, markets, and shopping malls in Karachi and other divisional headquarters, closing them at 9pm throughout the week, including weekends. The decision follows a federal directive to close such establishments by 8pm nationwide, with exceptions for bakeries, medical stores, fuel stations, and marriage halls. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif led the federal government's energy conservation measures, which also included allowing restaurants and food outlets to operate until 11:30pm.
