Sunetra Pawar to file nomination on April 6, contest won’t be unopposed in Baramati
Sunetra Pawar, the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, will file her nomination for the Baramati by-election on April 6th. The seat fell vacant after the death of her husband Ajit Pawar in an air crash earlier this year. The election is expected to test the unity of the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance as allies may compete against each other. While the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has declared it will not field a candidate against Sunetra Pawar, the Maharashtra Congress and Shiv Sena UBT have expressed their intention to support a candidate in Baramati.
