‘Miyas’ will be game-changers in Assam election, says AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi
Asaduddin Owaisi, president of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), predicted a "community tsunami" in favor of the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) on April 9th's Assam Assembly elections. He urged voters to support the AIUDF and its candidate Mohammed Badruddin Ajmal, stating that "Miya" Muslims would be the game-changers. Owaisi criticized Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Assam Chief Minister, for his alleged use of "politics of hatred" against Muslims and blamed the Congress for the rise of the BJP in Assam. He also asserted that the AIUDF was a collective political asset representing marginalized communities.
