Ceferin expressed concern over the infrastructure and stated that if it is not ready, the tournament may not be held in Italy. The warning comes after Italy missed out on a place at the 2026 World Cup for the third consecutive time. Italy has to name five stadiums by October and must begin redevelopment work by March 2027.
