CPI(M)-affiliated activists attacked a UDF campaign team in Cheruvathur, preventing candidate Sandeep Warrier from entering the area. The incident occurred as a five-member foot campaign team was distributing promotional material and was allegedly intercepted by a group led by Krishnan, a CPI(M) worker. The attack resulted in the team being manhandled and their materials destroyed. Following intervention by local people, the attackers retreated, but Warrier condemned the incident and called for respect of democratic rights during elections.
