T.N. election 2026: TVK chief Vijay accuses Chennai police, officials of denying permission for his Perambur campaign

Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president Vijay accused the Greater Chennai Police and officials of obstructing his election campaign in Perambur Assembly constituency. He claimed that the police denied permission for a meeting citing insufficient space, despite his party having sought approval two days prior. Vijay alleged this was an attack on democracy and a sign of the DMK government's fear of the new political party. District Election Officer J. Kumaragurubaran, however, denied these allegations, stating that the Chennai District Election Office would review applications based on standard procedures.
