Odisha’s last remaining top Maoist leader surrenders
Odisha Police received a significant boost in its anti-Maoist operations as Sukru, a senior CPI (Maoist) leader with a ₹55 lakh bounty, and four other operatives surrendered to Kandhamal police. With this surrender, the number of active Left Wing Extremists in Odisha has dropped to single digits. The surrendered cadres handed over weapons including an AK-47 rifle. Director General of Police Y.B. Khurania urged remaining extremists to surrender before time runs out.
