Kerala CM blames successive Congress, BJP governments at Centre for India’s cooking gas crisis

Pinarayi Vijayan, Kerala Chief Minister, blamed Congress and BJP governments at the Centre for the ongoing cooking gas scarcity. He argued that their decisions to reject the India-Iran gas pipeline in 2006 and subsequent policies favoring private sector interests have contributed to the crisis. Vijayan accused both parties of overlooking the economic fallout, including job losses and inflation, while failing to increase LNG production or secure sufficient crude oil reserves. He stated that these failures have exacerbated the cost-of-living crisis in the country.
