Assam CM, regional party chiefs file nominations
Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Assam Chief Minister, and presidents of two non-NDA regional parties filed their nomination papers for the upcoming Assam Assembly elections. Sarma is seeking election from Jalukbari, while Pramod Boro, president of the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL), submitted his papers for Tamulpur. The Raijor Dal's Akhil Gogoi also filed his nomination for Sibsagar. The Congress party and Raijor Dal entered into a seat-sharing deal, with Gaurav Gogoi stating their goal is to "build a new 'Bor Asom'" while the Raijor Dal president promised land rights for all if they form the government.
