High drama in Kannur as protests staged for Sudhakaran’s candidature

K. Sudhakaran supporters protested outside the District Congress Committee office in Kannur, demanding his candidacy for the seat. The protest escalated after reports emerged that former Kannur Mayor T.O. Mohanan was being considered for the position despite a Vigilance probe against him. While some party workers celebrated the potential concession of the seat to Sudhakaran, others expressed dissatisfaction with the prolonged uncertainty and alleged it had demoralized the cadre. The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has yet to make a final decision on the matter.
