ECI to announce Assembly poll dates for four States, one Union Territory today

## Election Dates for Key States Announced The Election Commission of India will announce the dates for Assembly elections in Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, and Puducherry on Sunday, March 15th, 2026. A press conference at 4 p.m. will reveal the schedule as terms for these Legislative Assemblies are ending in May and June. The Commission has finalized electoral rolls for all states and the Union Territory of Puducherry following a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. Election officials have visited each state to assess poll preparedness, including West Bengal where the ruling Trinamool Congress faces off against the Bharatiya Janata Party. In Kerala, the Left Democratic Front and United Democratic Front are vying for 140 seats, while in Tamil Nadu, political parties are finalizing alliances ahead of the 234-seat Assembly election. Puducherry will hold elections for all 30 constituencies of its Legislative Assembly.
