## Congress Announces 65 Candidates for Assam Assembly Elections The Indian National Congress (Congress) has released its second list of candidates for the upcoming Assam Assembly elections. The party, which is aiming to regain power in the state, has nominated 23 individuals for various constituencies. This brings the total number of candidates announced by the Congress to 65, with 15 seats reserved for alliance partners. The party has also confirmed that its leader Debabrata Saikia will contest from the Nazira constituency and former PCC president Ripun Bora will contest from Barchalla. This announcement follows the release of the first list of 42 candidates on March 3rd. The Assam Assembly elections are scheduled for April, with the Congress seeking to break a streak of losing power since 2016.
