Congress, DMK seat sharing talks begin in Puducherry

## Congress and DMK Meet to Discuss 2026 Assembly Seat Sharing Leaders from the Congress and DMK met on Saturday evening to discuss how they will divide seats for the upcoming 2026 Assembly elections in Puducherry. The meeting took place at a hotel near Ajantha Signal, with representatives from both parties present. The DMK delegation was led by S. Jagathrakshakan, while the Congress was represented by V. Vaithilingam. Former Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy and Opposition leader R. Siva also participated in the discussions. The two parties have a history of sharing seats during elections, with the Congress contesting 14 seats in the 2021 Assembly polls, leaving 13 for the DMK, one each for CPI and VCK. The alliance did not field any candidates in the Yanam constituency.
